CVSA BRAKE SAFETY WEEK 2025
August 11, 2025

Commercial motor vehicles found with brake-related out-of-service violations, or any other out-of-service violations, will be removed from roadways until those issues are corrected.
That is why TRP Performance® is offering special deals to help you prepare and get ready for inspection.
Check the Brake Safety Week Flyer for 8 tips on how to avoid violations related to brake drums and rotors.
WHAT IS CVSA BRAKE SAFETY WEEK?
CVSA Brake Safety Week is part of Operation Airbrake’s campaign to improve commercial vehicle brake safety across North America. The goal is to promote brake-safety awareness and outreach opportunities, educate drivers, perform brake-related inspections, and conduct violation data collection.

- Brake-related violations comprise the largest percentage of all out-of-service vehicle violations cited during roadside inspections.
- Six out of the top 20 vehicle violations were brake related.
- Last year’s CVSA International Roadcheck found that 23% of all vehicle out-of-service violations were brake-system related.
CVSA-certified inspectors will conduct routine commercial motor vehicle inspections focusing on brake systems and components with an emphasis on brake drums and rotors.
